The adventure definitely showed up in full force in 2022. Thousands of off-road enthusiasts endured the pouring rain at the 39th annual Chequamegon MTB Festival in the big woods of northwestern Wisconsin.

Fall Trail Work Days

2022 Fall Work Days

CAMBA held two Fall Work Days on the trails this year! We were able to prepare for the winter season with some critical drainage work on the trails. With the snow and freeze upon us, the more we do to set our trails up for a smooth thaw, the longer the trails will stay healthy.

These fall work days were a little different, in that they were geared toward teaching volunteers about several key strategies employed to help keep the trails in good, ridable condition. Most of this was related to establishing and restoring drainage features, as well as efforts to improve the trail tread, similar to the hand work done on Hatchery Creek this past summer.

This Fall’s first Work Day was on Saturday, October 1st at the Mosquito Brook Trailhead. The second Fall Work Day on October 22nd, focused on some areas of the Makwa trail. Both days saw incredible volunteers that were able to complete more work than we anticipated. And a CAMBA supplied lunch with beverages always makes for a fun gathering after the work. Thank you all for helping make our trails great!

If you have any questions on how to get involved volunteering on the trails, please email rbergin@cambatrails.org

CAMBA Annual Meeting & Board of Directors Election

Check back for our 2023 Date!

Our Annual Meeting was held on Friday • December 2, 2022  with a 6-7pm Social Hour • 7-8pm meeting • After 8, more social time!

We want to extend a sincere thank you to all of our members! If you couldn’t join us, here is a recap…

We had Kate and board members going all out to bring us back live and in person and over 60 of us spent a celebratory evening after a very successful year of furthering the CAMBA trails. It felt so good to be back socializing together! And what a place to celebrate – Cindy and Drew and the Sawmill Saloon crew always set the stage for an amazing time! We introduced our new Board of Directors, and although he couldn’t be there, we thanked Tim Louis, our only Board Member not returning for the 2023 Board. We wouldn’t be where we are without him as he has elevated the CAMBA Board to a strong foundation and we are thankful for his leadership. We reviewed the year talking about trail accomplishments and events, finances, and plans for the future. There is a strong focus within CAMBA on the people that create this special organization – our members and volunteers make us what we are! Special recognition went out to Steve Morales and Jerry Wright for their extraordinary efforts for CAMBA. And what would a celebration be without a little swag… thank you Washburn Hardware, Riverbrook, and New Moon for contributing to make it happen! We ended with a hint of what’s to come with our next year’s 30th Anniversary Celebration! We are 30 Years Strong!
