Fall Trail Work Days
2022 Fall Work Days
CAMBA held two Fall Work Days on the trails this year! We were able to prepare for the winter season with some critical drainage work on the trails. With the snow and freeze upon us, the more we do to set our trails up for a smooth thaw, the longer the trails will stay healthy.
These fall work days were a little different, in that they were geared toward teaching volunteers about several key strategies employed to help keep the trails in good, ridable condition. Most of this was related to establishing and restoring drainage features, as well as efforts to improve the trail tread, similar to the hand work done on Hatchery Creek this past summer.
This Fall’s first Work Day was on Saturday, October 1st at the Mosquito Brook Trailhead. The second Fall Work Day on October 22nd, focused on some areas of the Makwa trail. Both days saw incredible volunteers that were able to complete more work than we anticipated. And a CAMBA supplied lunch with beverages always makes for a fun gathering after the work. Thank you all for helping make our trails great!
